“Ultra purist bleep techno minimalism for fans of Mika Vainio’s Ø and Thomas Brinkmann’s most focussed work.
We've got no idea who this one might be, but whoever it is they're fucking patient. Each side is over 10 minutes of cautiously unspooling rhythmic minimalism - a cursory listen might give you nothing, a closer inspection will drive you to Lovecraftian madness. There's far more going on than initially meets the ears; what might seem like an unchanging set of stepped bass, oscillating percussion and searing alarm bleats actually moves so complexly it's close to chaotic. Heaving and serpent-like, it rings out like a demonic march into the underworld, bagging up Pan Sonic's electro-fried austerity and piping it into alt-universe big room territory.
'Extrapolation A' is like a forensic recreation of a distant memory of a hectic night out - part nauseous sex dungeon minimalism, part Thomas Bangalter's "Irréversible" soundtrack. 'Extrapolation B' is more more pleasurable and tricky, a hiccuping fusion of acidic synth flutters and broken rhythms that seeps gingerly into the brain chemistry like a cheap bag of iffy amphetamines. Paranoid, delusional and disarmingly brilliant stuff.
