“As with the rest of sm-ll's UAN output, this latest disc is completely anonymous and totally essential - two in-the-red jerky industrial belters that offer a gruesome and contemporary take on the Pan Sonic or SND method. So heavy.

There's something reassuring about the anonymity of music that sounds like a factory floor filled with malfunctioning industrial machinery. UAN0011 is a standout release in an already essential catalogue - more slammed-to-the-wall and madcap than its Raster and Container-influenced predecessors and more grizzly as a result. A-side cut 'REC0013' is basically a single shuffled rhythmic loop that sounds like a robotic joint stuck in a broken process - each sound is subtly tweaked over the duration so what initially sounds minimal almost imperceptibly shifts into awkwardly arrhythmic chaos. With the shuffle and serious low-end, there's nearly a 2-step quality to this one - nearly.

Flip over to 'REC0014' and we're in sub-aquatic territory, with squelchy, pulsing synths sounding like fritzed circuit boards submerged in pools of primordial ooze. Mid-way through, the squelches appear to materialize into hi-BPM dancefloor thuds, but it's so heavily buried it's hard to completely tell. One for the Vladislav Delay devotees for sure. Exceptional!”

“This is some serious straight up über experimental, minimal and super repetitive funky stuff with a groove and i love it!
Highly recommended. Favorite track: REC0013.
